Let us know in the comments or by sharing it on social media. Seoul’s Tteokbokki street has around a dozen or so eateries each with their own unique take on tteokbokki – some have been around for decades whilst others are more recent. Please also remember the legal drinking age in Korea is 19 years old and above – and the youngest person drinking should be the first to pour Di동코리아 for everyon
The places in Hongdae are always lively with a good atmosphere, so if you’ve got a group of friends who are down, this is a fun way to start the night. Okay, let’s get a few things out of the way before we head out. Most bars and clubs in Seoul do check your IDs, so be sure to bring your passport, driver’s license, or whatever. A picture of my passport occasionally worked, but oftentimes, they’d require a physical copy. It is quite a big risk to bring your passport out on a night that might quickly become unhinged, but unfortunately, this is the cas
Changgyeonggung is particularly beautiful in late March, when its plum blossoms fill the palace with a lovely fragrance and pretty pink petals. During Joseon Dynasty times, it was mostly used as a living space for queens and concubines, but Di동코리아 under Japanese colonial rule, it was used as a zoo. It stayed that way until 1983, when it was finally restored back to its original glory. Seoul’s palaces are open at night at various times of the year, usually in spring and autumn, so be sure to keep an eye out for this extra special event. The Seoul Drone show started up a few years ago, and quickly turned into one of the must-do activities in Seoul at night. With 1000 or more drones lighting up Seoul’s night sky in a different theme each week, it’s something you won’t regret seein
The ambiance and food are considered average, with no lunchtime queues and menu options like chicken noodles, kimchi stew (for two or more), and bossam. The chicken noodle soup is praised for being light and comforting, with generous portions. While the honeycomb makgeolli craze peaked in 2023, the limited variety of flavors may disappoint enthusiasts. The restaurant offers various jeons, kimchi stew, and side dishes, though typical free side dishes like kimchi are charged per plate, which some find overpriced. Overall, it’s worth visiting once for the experience, especially if you enjoy makgeolli, but it’s not the best choice for flavor variety or budget-friendly dinin
It's on a completely different level Di동코리아 from the ones we've introduced you to so far. I recommend Itaewon Pub (map link) as a place to start if you are bar-hopping with a small group of friends. Prost (Map link) is one of the most popular clubs in Itaewon and would be a fun place to start if you are planning on "club-hopping
Sneak in a bottle of soju or beer, rent a room for 5000 won ($4 USD) per hour, and drink and sing to your heart’s content. I’m Filipino, so karaoke is a favorite pastime of mine, and I found this to be extremely fun. It’s a great way to kill an hour or two without spending too much money, and getting nice and drunk before hopping to the other bar
It’s an 800-metre long alley running along the stone wall of Jongmyo Shrine (map link), which houses the memorial artefacts of royals from the Joseon Dynasty (1392 to 1910). Jongmyo Shrine is next to Changgyeonggung Palace, and near Gyeongbokgung Palace. Go upstairs and there is a more laidback bar with a pool table, dart board and arcade game
I’m not sharing all of these, but I am sharing three of the best and the ones to prioritise if you’re short on time in Seoul. The first on this list is Changdeokgung Palace and its beautiful Secret Garden. Changdeokgung Palace was built in the Joseon Dynasty in the 15th century and is often admired for the way it combines the palace buildings with the natural landscape that it’s built within. The Secret Garden is the highlight of the Palace and it can only be visited on a guided tour. Only 100 tickets are available for each tour which disappear fast! 50 for each slot are available to book in advance and 50 are available from Di동코리아 9am each day so it’s best to get a reservation in advanc
The closest Fortress Wall of Seoul trail to Namsan Park is Baekbeom Square and is beautifully lit up in Seoul at night with a backdrop of the city. You also get a beautiful view of Seoul at night from the top of the entrance stairs. It’s most popular in the fall months when you can catch the silver grass (eulalia/pampas grass
There are several flagship shops to check out in the neighbourhood and popular places include Olive Young, Nature Republic, Holika Holika, Skin Food, Laneige, Innisfree and StyleNanda 3CE. ‘The Painters’ in Seoul is the world’s first live painting show combined with music – a few people have asked recently about an alternative to the ‘Nanta Cooking / Comedy Show’ and we’d recommend ‘The Painters’. For instance, one of our favourite malls in Seoul, Starfield COEX Mall near Gangnam is open until 10pm every night of the week – Starfield Mall has over 200 stores Di동코리아 plus around 100 eating place
